I’m sure you, along with many other often wonder if it is possible to be living without carbohydrates? For many of us, it’s hard to put them down because they taste so good and when those cravings get out of control we tend to see the consequences of those later on in several areas of our bodies. However, it’s safe to say that if you are the type of person who despises physical activity, but doesn’t want to gain weight; then cutting down on carbohydrates just might be the answer to that problem.
A carb, or carbohydrate, is a large group of organic compounds occurring in foods and living tissues and including sugars, starch, and cellulose. They contain hydrogen and oxygen in the same ratio as water and typically, can be broken down to release energy in the animal body. Our body’s preferred form of energy for muscles, nervous system and metabolism are through this occurring compound and though it will fall back on protein as an energy source in no time. Living without carbohydrates can be possible, but its important to find the substitutes to those can offer you the same benefits.
Is Is Possible To Live Without Carbohydrates?
No, I do not believe that it is possible. As I keep on mentioning you need to find a good energy source to replace these carbs if you are someone who enjoys physical activities. This is because typically when you eat carbs, your body breaks them down into smaller units of sugars and transports them via the bloodstream to tissues and organs where they’re put to use for energy. Glucose being one of those sugars is important for your central nervous system.
Living without carbohydrates though can cause some side effects as well, especially if you don’t have the right substitute for them. A study showed scientific proof that too little carbs can be problematic for other biological functions. You may become weak, dizzy and experience hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
