I’m sure you, along with many other often wonder if it is possible to be living without carbohydrates? For many of us, it’s hard to put them down because they taste so good and when those cravings get out of control we tend to see the consequences of those later on in several areas of our bodies. No, I do not believe that it is possible. As I keep on mentioning you need to find a good energy source to replace these carbs if you are someone who enjoys physical activities. This is because typically when you eat carbs, your body breaks them down into smaller units of sugars and transports them via the bloodstream to tissues and organs where they’re put to use for energy. Glucose being one of those sugars is important for your central nervous system.

Living without carbohydrates though can cause some side effects as well, especially if you don’t have the right substitute for them. A study showed scientific proof that too little carbs can be problematic for other biological functions. You may become weak, dizzy and experience hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).

No matter what, there are a variety of foods out in the world that provide high levels of carbohydrates without the need for all the other junk that is made with them. Finding those alternatives will be more than beneficial to you and you’ll get the same great results that you would get with the more unhealthier version!

If you’re looking for a better way to get those necessary carbohydrates without ruining your health try some of these simple substitutes such as, leafy greens instead of taco shells, portabello mushrooms instead of hamburger buns, eggplant instead of sliced bread, butternut, squash, turnips or carrots instead of french fries.
